This is inappropriate for the Ercoupe list. Please, let's stick to

Please cross-post and forward to everyone you know - our grassroots
campaign to protect our food safety is working! Congress has
delayed the bill to gut all state laws which are more stringent
than the least of the Federal guidelines (and if you've been paying
attention you know that the big corporate agribusinesses have been
working hard to gut food safety laws at the Federal level, and this
bill was designed to prevent states from protecting their citizens
better than the Federal government is interested in doing). Big
corporate agribusinesses have already been hard at work to retain
"organic certification" even when they don't feed the more
expensive organic feeds to livestock and poultry - this is your
opportunity to help prevent Congress from undermining your state
legislatures who may care more about your food safety than the
Federal government obviously does.

Dear Susan,

I just received good news - our emails to Congress are working.
Thank you for taking action!

Congress was about to pass a bill this morning to gut food safety
laws in Florida and across the country--without even holding a
hearing on the bill! The good news: the House decided to delay the
vote until next week, and they've actually scheduled time for
debate on the issue!

Our representatives are finally listening--and now we need to keep
the pressure on. Please forward this email to five people you think
might want to help us preserve our state and local food safety net.
Ask them to take action today! They can go to our food campaign
home page at http://www.notinmyfood.org/.

H.R. 4167, the "National Uniformity for Food Act," lowers the bar
on food safety by overturning state food safety laws that are not
"identical" to federal law. The bill could directly harm consumers
by increasing their exposure to food-borne illnesses, undermining
the authority of state food safety officers, and overturning state
food labeling laws. We need to stop this bill!

Industry supporters of this bill claim that they are
"standardizing" food safety regulations - but don't be fooled. What
this bill really does is lowers all state food safety regulations
to the lowest federal standard. Local and state officials are now
responsible for 80% of the nation's food safety enforcement, and
this bill would restrict the ability of local officials in Florida
and Micanopy to protect you and your family as best they can.

We need stronger protections for our nation's food supplies, not
weaker ones. We now know that Congress is listening to us - and
your email to five friends today can defeat this bad idea! They can
write to their lawmakers from our food campaign home page: http://
www.notinmyfood.org/

was a profoundly rude intentional abuse of our network.

I suggest that you read the recent thread started by my question
regarding water in the fuel. It covers all the bases on gas, mogas, and
avgas rather neatly.

Very respectfully,

Today's AvFlash newsletter has a variety of interesting articles y'all may
want to read and think about responding to
http://www.avweb.com/eletter/archives/avflash/586-full.html#191681

In addition to the articles copied below, it includes articles on the use of
eminent domain proceedings possibly adversely affecting General Aviation
airports in Alabama, the finding of stolen avionics listed on eBay and
airlines accepting "user fees" in lieu of ticket taxes, etc.

Here's one article which should be of great interest to all of us:

Sigh. If it's ok for Susan to post this unsubstantiated attack on
agricultural companies on a forum devoted to Ercoupes, is it ok for me to
take up additional of your valuable time debunking the contra-business,
anti-American Leftist trash that usually emanates from her principal,
Consumer's Union?

Or could we maybe go back to talking about our little princesses and their
completely non-political ways?
