Well Paris-Resonance is fun but just too weird… Moreover I don't think
I'm a "French activist", may be you are but me definitely not :-D
Let's stay with Étoilé then. No new project to set up, that's
convenient :-)

Alex will be upset :-/

Why would I be upset? That makes no sense.

hehe I was just joking… without usual smiley safety belt.

Nicolas has done a quick poll, British people prefer Étoilé to
Resonance, may be Étoilé is not so bad.

I never said it was :) I like the name, personally, but I do not think it
would be generally received well by many (most?) Americans. That's not
something I can really change, even though I happen to think it's lame.

Banlu prefers Étoilé (or Paris-Resonance :-), he is playing a decisive role in this project like Nicolas or me and on this list we have been unable to to reach an agreement on other proposals (outside of Resonance)… I admit I'm fine with Étoilé even if I was pushing for a new name initially. Last point, I think project names like GNOME or KDE are probably less sexy than Étoilé and look in my opinion like lame developer oriented marketing honestly. Most of people in France I have talked about GNOME or KDE for first time, have said theses names sound ugly. May be it's not true for other languages speakers.

Finally with any names there is side effect in one language or another : Gnome just means "dwarf" in French, I don't know in English… but that's not very positive.

I must admit, here… British people == probably students hijacking "tea
room" of Nicolas' university lab ;-)

Does that really matter? :)

A lot ! Swansea university people are drinking very special sort of tea which extends your "marketing quotient" way over normal value… :-D

Quentin.
