AFAIK, Etoile tries to keep thing under the LGPL or BSD licenses.
Although there are components that are GPLed, it seems that the
general effort is to avoid causing things to be GPLed.
Yes. Simply because we want to promote components and
communication/cooperation between apps, so at the very least the
frameworks/libraries should be under LGPL or BSD, as much as possible.
For applications, same principle, even if it's probably less of a
concern.
Basically it's not that we won't take anything that is under GPL; but
given the choice, LGPL is probably better suited for us (or BSD, of
course. Personally I tend to prefer LGPL though)
