Yes. Simply because we want to promote components and
communication/cooperation between apps, so at the very least the
frameworks/libraries should be under LGPL or BSD, as much as possible.
For applications, same principle, even if it's probably less of a
concern.
Basically it's not that we won't take anything that is under GPL; but
given the choice, LGPL is probably better suited for us (or BSD, of
course. Personally I tend to prefer LGPL though)
Ok, so with the policy of GPL to fit less with Etoile, I think it's time
for me to actually say good bye. I wish you guys good luck with the project.
