I know a few people whom loved their Volvo station wagons and took good care of them. But as the vehicles aged had these folks could not afford the ongoing service/maintenance needs and had to rid of their Volvo's. I'm acquainted with a former service manger of a large Volvo dealership and over the years he has mentioned similar thoughts to me.
And many of the older Volvo's I see on the road these days appear to be contributing more pollution than I would want to see coming out of any passenger vehicle.
