That's why when folks ask me for a jump, I offer instead to take them
home or else to remove their battery and take it somewhere and get it
charged for them.
If it's truly dead, I'd agree. However, many vehicles won't turn over
when the battery is still at 50%. Anecdotally, I'd bet that most "dead
batteries" fall into this category.
