Hello,
My father lives in your area and is a beginner at computers, internet, the
whole works. At 79 he wants to get online and begin learning. I applaud him. He
will have a dual boot computer with Windows and Ubuntu. I live in Alaska and
I've done extensive reading about ISP's working with Linux and it doesn't look
good. They require Windows to set up the service. That is why he has Windows.
He will be using Ubuntu for all of his tasks including internet after he is
online.

I need to know what ISP your local members are using and if Ubuntu will work
online after the setup. It looks like Comcast and Qwest are the only choices
there. They also want unlimited long distance and are ready to switch
providers. They are paying $90 per month for unlimited long distance only.
That's way out of line.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
T. Gregg
