I would expect that either the Tesla will not charge if the
pack has gone below a certain safe level (just like laptop batteries)
or that the protection in the pack itself disables the charger
(so, not the charger or the Tesla control protecting the pack,
but the pack itself.
The pack consists of 11x9 series blades, each which carry 69 cells in
parallel
so a blade should be chargeable by measuring its voltage, checking it
has
not gone under a safe voltage of say 2V, and recharge with a 3.7V power
supply

-Is it not internal protection circuits? in each cells in the old tesla

 If so, ..it Will be hard to fix 7000 cells...  :-)
