I did read some Forrest Mims, but most of what I know I learned from Alfred P Morgan! ;-) As an old-timer, an electrical / electronic hacker, and an electrical engineering dropout (really), I enjoy reading these exchanges. I've been following Lee Hart's solutions to EV problems for 20 years now. I love them for their directness and elegance. Better yet, once he explains, I can usually understand how they work, despite the fact that my electronics background is almost entirely "Here, build this circuit. Oh, and here's how it works."
