We don't do this. The only time we start a day with a full charge is if
we're planning to drive 120km or more that day.

With a real-world range of around 320-350km, and trips that seldom exceed
80km, it's just not necessary. And from what I've read, any time a lithium
battery sits at more than 55-60% SOC, it's degrading faster than it does
below that SOC. We hope to still be driving this car when it's 20 years
old, so we try to take good care of the battery.

We charge when we're down to around 15-20%, and then we charge to 60%, or
closer to 100% if we have a long trip the next day.

Our situation may be a bit different from some. We're both retired, so no
commute. And we live in a highly walkable town. Thus the car often sits in
the garage for days on end.

Also, not to preach, but neither one of us would ever leave on a 15km trip
with only 15km showing on the range meter. In fact if I left the car in
that state, I'd never hear the end of it!

All that said, I'm glad your situation worked out OK.
