What's wrong is wrong. They may think they're doing right and may feel it to be their
pious duty, however it is still wrong. How God will judge them is another matter, let
God do that. However, it is important to speak up and point out that it's incorrect
and inhumane.
Please also bear in mind that all religions have suffered the tragedy of deviation
from the original message, misunderstood and convoluted it into something terrible.
Exactly. And why is that? Isn't it because religions derive their dogma from divine
revelations which cannot be discarded, only "interpreted". What religion ever praised
the will to find out instead of the will to believe?

Those who remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and *_think
deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth,_*"Our Lord! You have not created
this without purpose, glory to You! Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire.
You can find many verses in the Quran which exhort us to think and use our
intelligence.
And if you followed that advice you'd stop believing you can learn morals from an
imaginary despot.
