Same here Jim. It's very frustrating to have to give such mixed messages about a simple volume connect. We have OS9.2 as well, which makes things more complex as we still have AppleTalk installed for them.
Other problems we have are differences with filename lengths and application extensions. By far the most annoying issue is OS9.2 and OSX changing passwords for AD accounts. I would be happy to take part in any tests needed to get a definitive client/protocol/authentication/server matrix. I used to be more open minded about supporting multiple OSs, but imo things are getting worse. OS9 & NT4 works better then OSX and AD/2k. I'm looking to reduce the Mac count we have, they just aren't designed for corporate 'standardised' environments. Sorry for ranting. > > > Ed covered the POP issue..... > > On your connection to the server issues, some doing via IP, > some via smb.....welcome to my world. It stinks.
