You could also build up a desktop box (Everything is 64 bit these days)
for under $1000.00 (Hardware cost) that could handle being a temp
Emergency recovery server, that would function until your real server
came back up. Performance would be slow but could work well for a small
shop in a pinch.

I thought that planning and researching recovery issues was sorta, kinda

like doing proper preparation.  But what do I know?

Buy a premium warranty (4 hour onsite from Dell or HP for example) and
recovery services from a company like Sungard or a continuity solution
from a company like... well, mine.
