I got asked once if it was possible and found that an option had been added at some point to Exmerge to allow extraction from the Dumpster for mail on Exchange 5.5 (or later) servers.
Exmege version 3.71 has an option "CopyDeletedItemsFromDumpster", which if set to 1 it will copy the dumpster items. The default is 0. Jane Jane F. A Mailbox Move loses items in the Dumpster. I doubt Exmerge would do this as it just exports from the mailbox so I would assume it does the same on the dumpster which of course has to be specifically selected. Would exmerge have removed it from the dumpster too and achieved the same result? Do a search for dumpsteralwayson on Microsoft website. This is a reg key that can be added to retrieve items from any folder. It is retrospective. The item does not appear as available to recover under 'tools'->'recover deleted items'. I have no backups whilst the item existed.
