The question is "what gateways work with Exchange". I'd have to hunt it down, but there is a certified gateway partner listing somewhere on Microsoft.com.
In general, anything that talks TCP SIP should work. Exchange UM is more-or-less equivalent in concept to Unity - that is, Unified Messaging (Unity and its various add-ons are far more mature in feature set - but the average business user wouldn't notice). OCS 2007 R2 is more-or-less equivalent in concept to CallManager - that is, a software-based PBX. In terms of PBX functionality, CallManager wins, hands-down. In terms of other functionality - IM, presence, Office integration, whiteboarding, screen sharing; OCS 2007 R2 wins, hands-down. Regards, Michael B.
