I am running a VMWare cluster - with 2 mbx servers and 2 CAS servers - all virtual. I tried using NLB - and it was a complete failure. That is when I went ahead and got a coyote point, and it has been fine since.

A virtual load balancer also sounds like an option as we have a vSphere cluster that should be able to run a pair of appliances in HA.
