Hello, Drivers license: What I have done, as well as others, simply get a translated/notarized copy of your drivers license and present this with your original when you are stopped. A couple times this was questioned by the officer where a strong argument dismissed the question. Example: Do you really think I would risk and drive without valid permission? Or, I've checked this out thourghly, so if you intend to question the validity, be my guest. But before you do, ask yourself the question, if a Russian citizen is allowed to use his or her Russian driver's license in Europe or the US, why wouldn't we allowed the same courtesy of course we are so I'll be on my way.
Purchasing an Auto: I've lived here for 12 years. I'm married to a local girl who was born in Moscow. I own my own company and employ 15 people. They will not give me credit but will to my wife. Who is not registered to work anywhere. Part of it is my being registered as the director of the company. The other reason is if I get bored, I could just disappear.
