Thanks for your mail.
I agree that this forum is for people who would want to survive the reality

The funniest thing is that all the complaints about that guy's ad being over
priced drew more PR for that ad than it ever would have gotten had the people
who objected to it just ignored it.  So in the hopes of generating the same PR
for what seems to me to be a reasonably priced ad, I'm replying to Margie's.
Sorry, I have no need for the mentioned items, but if I did I would find the
prices reasonable.
Marian

Don,

This mailing list is MORE than helpful to those who offer real offers.....not
things that are dressed up as offers yet more expensive than can be bought in
discounted shops nowadays.

I understand your point but I think it's helpful for potential purshasers to
know that this really isn't a good deal.

Not everyone had your 16 years or my 14 years of experience here.

Regards,

Nick

I am a 16 vet of Moscow and a 48 year old expat, so let me help you out.

“OBO” Stands for - Or Best Offer

The term is used a lot stateside. You guys seem to be taking the piss out of
somebody for no reason, if you think the price is to high just make an offer
for Christ’s sake. It is a pain to move as you all know, I don’t even know
these people but have some compassion will ya. The Expat sites and lists are
meant to be an aid to assist people, not cause them grief.

Don has just now jumped off of his Podium, and left the building.

Sorry people but what does OBO mean? I've never heard it before and I'm a 50
year old expat.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

REF:- Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on Russian language courses? Are there any you
would recommend in Moscow? Is 1-2-1 tuition a better way to go?

I've been in Russia for some time now but I'd still rate my level as beginner.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had two different 1-2-1 teachers. I would reccommend them over a class as you
get things explained to you when you don't understand and can go faster on
things that you do understand.

However, After 2 1/2 years of Russian lessons I gave up when I started to get
deep into Russian Grammar. :-(    (Adjective endings! Oh My GOD!)

Good luck Nick

Julian

Well apparently you did not read thoroughly, or maybe you dont understand the
point of OBO. The point of selling things like this is, if people are
interested, they tell you what they are willing to pay. People are not idiots,
they know what a moving sale means. Or maybe I should expect to hold hands with
people through an OBO offer.

Micah,

I don't know whether you think people are fools on here (and I know you've
written "or best offer") but reducing your prices less than 20% for stuff about
a year old when the stores themselves are now reducing by more is taking the
piss a bit.

If this stuff is used and in good condition, usually people would expect to see
around about a 50% discount.

If people go online, they'll get better deals for brand new items at the moment!

Nick

We are moving out of Moscow and need to sell all of our stuff. Everything is
under 1 year old, and only used by 2 people for part of the year (or some of it
is not used at all!). So everything is still in excellent or good used
condition. We will be gone by mid-February, but are hoping to start selling the
things we do not use often. Located in the Izmaylova region.

Entertainment System Summary:

1. AV Receiver: Yamaha
Ampli-Tuner Audio Video
Model: RX-V459
New, never been opened. (MSRP was $400)

This Yamaha RX-V459 is any Home Theater buff's dream!!
It has VERY clean bass and plenty of cranking power

The RX-V459 has everything you need without any over kill.
Even has a place to plug in your MP3 player and listen to it just like any
other component you'd
The setup is very straight forward and well documented in the manual
IF what I have found on the web is correct I believe the RX-V459 is a late 2007
early 2008 model?
Bottom line:
If you want a super clean sounding unit without a ton of buttons...reasonable
price with lots of features...top notch quality inside and out...this Yamaha is
the way to go.
Trust me it won't take long for you to fall in love with it!
Strengths:
The usual super Yamaha quality build and sound.
Easy to navigate and setup.
Plenty of features without being overwhelming!!!
Place to plug in your MP3 player.
(Don't see this on the higher end units for some reason)
I like the -80db to +80db volume setup.
At -27db it's pretty loud and ya haven't even got to 0db yet!!

2. Infinity Beta HCS
Complete 6-piece Home theater and music loudspeaker system
200 mm (8"), 100-watt, compact powered subwoofer w/ CMMD drivers
Four magnetically shielded, 2-way satellites w/ CMMD drivers
2-way, magnetically shielded, voice-matched center speakers w/ CMMD drivers
MSRP: $1500
Also never taken out of the box, but bought as a display model so I'm willing
to knock the price down to $1200
It's a really great system. Check out the following links if you're interested:
1. Product Specifications:
http://www.infinitysystems.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=BETAHCS/230&ser=BET&Language=ENG&Region=EUROPE&Country=FI

Both links have photos.
2. Description: http://www.infinityloudspeakers.com.au/beta.html

Again, these are in perfect condition, and haven't been used.
If you buy them together I'll throw in another bonus and sell both for $1500
out of convenience.
