Yes,

Nina is correct.  You don't need to pass any Russian exam.  You can either
get a valid international license in your home country (for example, this
can be done at a AAA office in the US for a small fee), or alternatively you
can just have a notarized translation of your US license done here in
Moscow.

To provide extra comfort on this matter, here is the official regulation
from the Russian Department of Motor Vehicles (GAI):

Click on roman numeral VIII to expand the part that refers to foreigners
driving here.  I have had my US license translated and notarized and then
also printed this page from the GAI.ru website.  When I was stopped by the
GAI on once ocassion, I simply showed them these two docs and they were okay
with it.
