This question may border on the idiotic, but when you leave Russia using
your Russian passport, which passport do they stamp-- your Russian, your
US or both?

There is no reason to present the US passport when departing Russia
except at the airline ticket counter. Passport control does not care if
you have a visa or not for your destination. They are only concerned
that you have a right to leave Russia.
When you arrive in the US, they only care that you have a right to enter
so all that is necessary is a US Passport, green card or US visa. You
don't need to show a Russian passport.

There will be no problems, as you would present both passports
when you exit Russia for the states.

                Dear All -
I assume there must be people on this list who hold dual
citizenship,Russian and American. I was wondering how does it work while
crossing the borders? From what I know, the US allows, but doesn't
encourage dual citizenship; and I don't think Russia allows it.

So, if one is going to the US from Russia, and is using
the US passport - won't Russian customs look for a visa in it, how you
got in the country in the first place and whether or not you are leaving
on time? And if there is no visa there (since one entered on Russian
passport), will they create a problem for you?

I know de-facto that tons of people travel on both
passports, I just don't know the mechanics of it. Any info you may
spare?

                Thank you!
