Only if there are features in the new kernel that you don't
currently have. OTOH, you MAY want to upgrade if the new
kernel fixes some security holes. I don't know which kernel
you're on, or which kernel you're thinking of upgrading to
and what fixes it offers. :-)
SOME software will only work with certain kernels and above
(Creative Labs/SoundBlaster is known for "minimum/maximum"
kernels.)
