I think an age old maxim comes into play here. "If it isn't broken,
don't fix it." Unless there is some compelling reason to upgrade
anything, kernel or program, why tinker. Under compelling reasons I
would put a)fixes a network security leak or exploit or b)that new
version of the program has a feature that will send me to financial ruin
if I don't implement it.

Hello,

This may seem like a really silly question, but I'm wondering about
Kernel upgrades.

I'm a home user. If I am happy with my system is there a reason to
upgrade?
