Thats the error I got before I installed the telnet daemon. I am not sure if you actually checked that the daemon is there - my system had all the correct inet enties and was enabled, but the daemon package itself had not been installed. The telnet client you are using is in a different package and is independent of the daemon (telnetd) so you need to check the daemon itself. BillK
