I have been struggling with a problem on my machine since I
reformatted and reinstalled Mandrake 9.0.

Basically, anytime I attempt to rip a CD, my mouse goes absolutely
bonkers.

I run KDE 3.1 for my desktop, and rip CDs with Grip. I have run using
my CDRW drive and my DVD/CD drive. I have tried cdparanoia at command
line and I have tried cdda2wav to rip the tracks.

Everything seems to lead to a problem with the mouse.

I have checked IRQ conflicts, and the mouse resides on 12 and the
drives (ide-scsi) are shown to not have IRQs.

Any ideas? I am at a loss, and the original installation of Mandrake
9.0 did not have this problem.

On the side of the software box, in the 'System Requirements' section,
it said 'Requires Windows 95 or better'. So I installed Linux and
lived happily ever after.
