Not quiet the way you describe it. I was happy enough using RC2 awaiting 9.1 final. Recently (last week) I upgraded which wasn't a big deal as I kept everything updated anyway. I have had a few lock ups which I blamed on my kyrosII video card and the powerVR patches which are actually meant to be for mdk8.2, nothing like that before though! In general I've a feeling the whole install is less stable i.e. locks up for no apparent reason---it just doesn't feel right. My gui works a little more stable since I use the non-fb boot option so I'll keep a lookout for error messages as of now. So actually my gut feeling says: XFree86-4! Anyway, I'm not upgrading any of my other machines before I'm sure though. Good luck, HarM
