I have found LM91 rock solid, and I have installed it on quite a number of different types of PCs, about the only things I dislike with Mandrake 9.1 is the way it runs "depmod -a" on every bootup and the Zeroconf stuff, both very easy to fix.. About the Zeroconf stuff it was causing 3 second freezes now and again in Evolution and making Mandrake operate like a slug.
To Fix the "depmod -a" stuff comment out lines 491 to 508 in the /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit (Umm that could be a little differnet in yours) That will speed up your bootup.. Considerably -- At least if your still locking up you won't have to wait too long for the reboots ;) Now the Zeroconf stuff, and the freezes are usually caused by a program tmdns, just run the command "rpm -e tmdns" after you have completed this process, just check your /etc/hosts file and the /etc/resolv.conf file making sure that the continence is correct, if the continence of your /etc/hosts file is not correct that will cause lockups..
