If you have or can get an older machine with two NIC's, try "IPCop" http://www.ipcop.org/ or just buy a Linksys router/firewall or Dlink router/firewall.
Mhhh... I use a ppp connection, analog modem.
Anyway, I found a "solution": I configured Internet Connection Sharing and magically Internet worked.
I hope 9.2 will be better :-)))
