I got downloads in excess of 300KB/s at peak, and easily averaged 200.

I'm not a member, but there are **tons** of complaints on www.madrakeusers.org that everyone it downloading awfully slow.
Since I did the urpmi update to 9.2 a month ago, I'll just wait until all the mirrors are not slashdotted! ;-)
I tried doing that, but I'm getting a weird error from it...if anybody's got a clue, I'd be happy :)

Same kind of prb here... I'm going to switch to the rpms from texstar
and see if those work with this switch. right now I'm doing 8kbs up and
1 down.
