Hey Phil,
Smarter people than I recommended to me to mix 10 oz. of your favorite
premix oil into the first 5 gallons of fuel in the cell in addition to your
normal injection oil. Also ensures that should something go wrong (plumbing,
oil injection, bad bleed), you've got oil/gas. Obviously, you don't want to
do this at a race unless you know your fuel won't be tested.

That being said, I've done as you're thinking on several occasions with no
ill effect...
Charlie

Subject: [F500] Engine Break-In

With a couple fresh bores, new pistons, rings, etc... What is the normal
break-in procedure for a 494? I'm assuming just running for a bit on the
stand, checking things, then taking it at 80% for the first session.
But I dunno. Any good advice?

Phil
