Hi,
I just downloaded the release from your link and it works for me on Windows
8.1, on the computer that generated the release to begin with. I guess
that's no surprise..
Does anyone else have Windows XP to try it on? I can make a VM soon if not.
The reason for having .com and .exe is that .com necessarily has a console
window attached and .exe doesn't have that limitation. They are basically
the same binary, 455KB. I have not run into the 64KB limit being a problem
even though wikipedia says it's the case.
I just checked Factor .90, which was built on Windows XP, and the .com file
size is 177KB.
Does the .exe work for you?
