I saw a guy at a bookstore yesterday with a sweatshirt on stating "Occupy
Seattle" on the front and "We are the 99%" on the back.  I wanted to ask him
what kind of reaction he was getting, but didn't.

What!  And miss out on all the fun!  You know the problem with Oakland
is about the same as San Fran:  no parking.

Oakland is a powder keg and could go off very badly and spread to other
cities in the country.  So far the protests have been peaceful.  In
Albany, NY the mayor asked the chief of police to arrest protesters and
the chief refused.  We need more police chiefs like that.

Two weeks ago I wanted to make a 99% button.  I looked around on the
Internet to find button maker kits and also found that just clear
buttons were available that you could just print a message, cut it out
and put under the button.  I located a 4 button kit nearby for only
$1.99.  Problem?  I so far broke two of them trying to pop open the
button so I could insert the graphic.  There is not much of anything
about how to open it.  I even sent an email to the company's support but
never heard back.  Today I'm going to look at another place that will
probably have the competing brand's buttons.

I also plan to make a 99% t-shirt to wear around town to see what
reaction I get.  And yesterday one of the usual panhandling suspects
approached me at the mall at the top of the hill and I told him to go
ask a Republican for money because "they have all the money."
