Just my tupenniheipni:

I believe e.g. most Caucasians have a rather strong(?) version of
the so called adventure gene, or whatevah. That's prolly the
main reason why their ancestors left Africa in the first place.

That might be one of the reasons most people are "afraid" of
the Age of Enlightenment, because they prolly think, at least
subconsciously, there would be no challenge and adventure during a "Golden 
Age"??
