And Alex will be pleased to learn that "Justified" returns tonight. I may add it to my Amazon Instant lineup too.

The 13 episode model is what is left over from the days when TV was "novel" and there were 26 episode series. Then they cut them down to 13 episodes and now they worry if a show will get enough ratings to continue beyond three.

Being in the entertainment industry I don't watch for just pure "couch potato" reasons. I like to watch for the way that series set themselves up, how they manipulate the viewer, filming techniques, etc. But then I don't join in much on the fan discussions of music on FFL. Perceptions are different from the other side of the stage. ;-)

*/You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but I completely disagree. It took all 13 episodes before we even *met* most of the great characters in the prison, much less got glimpses of their backstory -- what put them there. Suffice it to say that the people you met in the first three episodes are not who you took them for. It's one of those "peeling layers and layers off the onion, slowly" character studies. /*

*/Haven't paid attention to it for some reason. I'm sure I'll give it a watch when it comes out, but I'll wait until then to find out more. On the other hand, I saw a mention today of a new HBO series by the producers of "Lost" that has promise. Called "Leftovers," it's about the residents of a small town and how they react after the Rapture mysteriously whisk away several hundred of their number./*
