Yeah, I was originally going to spell Guinea as *Guinnie*, knowing that it
didn't look quite right. The auto correct dropped the *u*. However, *Ginnie*
was one of the options that it provided manually. I had no idea that Guinea Pig
was spelled with an *a*, which I would have looked up had the red squiggly line
appeared. I've seen this happen numerous times now.

Your auto correct must have a mind of its own, since according to
Merriam-Webster, there is no such word, ginnie. I think it is just messing with
you. I loathe auto correct, which I regard as a snobbish, superior type who
always thinks it knows better than I do what I want to type. Trouble is, it
almost always gets it wrong, but it never learns.

I wonder what percentage of people who saw the initial headline/news report of
this purported wonder pill believed it could do what it claimed. It would be an
interesting demographic study to know that, for me at least. I, being the
sceptic I am, dismissed it out of hand immediately but I am not sure if this is
a good thing or a bad thing since I hadn't even bothered to read further than
the first sentence or two. Now, I see my skepticism was justified (no surprise
in this case) but I wonder where my doubting nature came from.
