This also has to do with 'witnessing' what is being released; As if it is not really 'you' that is being released, but a part of 'you' that has been there for a long time. So, witnessing or being with the self, or the 'simplest state of awareness', also helps in the healing and releasing process, and soothes the feeling of being overwhelmed. >
