I love your email Jenny--it's a keeper for my file! It will be an inspiration for many occasions, including those times (like NOW) when I feel I'm being clubbed on the head by vet bills. I'm still chuckling at your first para. I had a friend-and-former-colleague, who has a fear and dislike of cats (yes, I know, incredible but true!) visit from London, England last week. She's not a really close friend, so until a couple of weeks ago, when I was obliged to explain to her why it might be preferable all round if she stayed elsewhere, she did not know I had one cat, never mind 7, including 4 FeLV pos who are quarantined in the guest room. She came to dinner the first night, met my neg cats, and caught a glimpse of one of the pos kitties when I opened the guest room door---as they're feral they'd mostly run and hid as soon as they knew a stranger was in the house. Anyway, now my closely-guarded secret is out---we have numerous mutual contacts in London, from my 'previous life' who have no idea I had turned into a crazy catwoman. I know my friend only too well---she's going to have a lot of fun regaling them about what's 'happened' to Kerry. She was quite touched actually by the FeLV situation (which surprised me, knowing how much she feared and dislike cats), so I think she will be quite kind at the same time. So hopefully homeless FeLV cats will get some good 'press' in London. Your mother sounds a lovely lady. Just like you! Thanks for sharing! Some members of my family are horrified. I have become what many women fear, over 40, never married with 9 cats. I love it. I am happy as a clam. Life is good. I do have the space for them. I have 10 acres but all of the kitties spend as much time as they want in the house. No one is positive yet. If one should go positive, they will be restricted to inside. The funny thing is that I can't really say that 9 is too many. It is all I can afford and won't be getting any more but I can't do without any of the ones I have. My bills get high sometimes but my mother once told me, "my mother raised 9 kids during the depression, I have faith that you can raise 9 cats in better times." It has been true. By the grace of God and my perpetual budgeting, they get what they need. 9 sounds like a lot but each one is so precious that I can't imagine life without any one of them. >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: felvtalk@vlists.net >Subject: Re: OT: What's you number? >Date: Wed, 02 Feb 2005 10:54:31 -0500 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >Received: from vlists.net ([208.186.168.62]) by MC8-F26.hotmail.com with >Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.211); Wed, 2 Feb 2005 07:56:58 -0800 >Received: from localhost ([EMAIL PROTECTED])by vlists.net (8.11.6/8.11.6) with >SMTP id j12FsvZ27645for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Wed, 2 Feb 2005 09:54:57 >-0600 >Received: by vps.vlists.net (TLB v0.11a (1.26 tibbs 1998/09/22 04:41:41)); >Wed, 02 Feb 2005 09:54:57 -0600 (CST) >Received: (from [EMAIL PROTECTED])by vlists.net (8.11.6/8.11.6) id >j12Fsvx27571for felvtalk-utils; Wed, 2 Feb 2005 09:54:57 -0600 >Received: from ms-smtp-02-eri0.texas.rr.com (ms-smtp-02.texas.rr.com >[24.93.47.41])by vlists.net (8.11.6/8.11.6) with ESMTP id j12Fslo27542for ><felvtalk@vlists.net>; Wed, 2 Feb 2005 09:54:47 -0600 >Received: from ms-mss-01 (ms-mss-01-smtp-b.texas.rr.com [10.93.38.16])by >ms-smtp-02-eri0.texas.rr.com (8.12.10/8.12.7) with ESMTP id >j12FsV8H002823for <felvtalk@vlists.net>; Wed, 2 Feb 2005 09:54:32 -0600 >(CST) >Received: from texas.rr.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by >ms-mss-01.texas.rr.com (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.21 (built Sep > 8 2003)) with ESMTP id <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for >felvtalk@vlists.net; Wed, 02 Feb 2005 09:54:31 -0600 (CST) >Received: from [10.93.36.27] (Forwarded-For: [68.50.132.220]) by >ms-mss-01.texas.rr.com (mshttpd); Wed, 02 Feb 2005 10:54:31 -0500 >X-Message-Info: JGTYoYF78jEgp2NwwC5fmGh4F/iAUmMPInRhXxD2j6o= >X-Mailer: iPlanet Messenger Express 5.2 HotFix 1.21 (built Sep 8 2003) >Content-language: en >X-Accept-Language: en >X-Virus-Scanned: Symantec AntiVirus Scan Engine >Virus-Information: Virus Scanned By VLists.Net For Your Protection. >Virus-Status: VLists.Net Found No Virus >Spam-Status: not spam, SpamAssassin (score=-2.592, required 5,BAYES_00 >-2.60, NO_REAL_NAME 0.01) >Precedence: list >Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 02 Feb 2005 15:56:58.0268 (UTC) >FILETIME=[D34EE5C0:01C5093F] > >We've got 7 cats!
