You can have the Metronidazole compounded into a liquid with flavoring added. There is also another form of Metronidazole that's not so nasty tasting, but I can't remember the name. I think it begins with a 'B' bens... bensa... Your vet should know what it is. My compound pharmacy was the one that told me about it. I never ordered it, that's why I can't remember the name. My house vet prescribed liquid Metronidazole that he tells me he gets from Mexico. It has an after taste, (I taste everything that goes in the babies), but nothing like the pill form. I was able to sneak this liquid into some cooked chicken liver for 15 days before Gypsy stopped eating.
Also I just posted about using Penicillin G instead of Metronidazole for IBD, (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). I'm not sure if you can substitute it across the board. I hope this helps.

Does anyone have any good tricks for getting very nasty tasting Metronidazole into a fractious cat twice daily?
