I don't agree, one reason is that having the same font/style for both 
playing instructions and measure numbers will not separate them visually 
when measure numbers appear near the expressions (such as when 
measure numbers are used on the staves).

FWIW, I believe that's the current default.

Yes, the current 3 preset arrowheads are much too limited as a 
default set.

Another thing regarding fingering numbers (articulations), it's 
probably "best" to set these as "Always Place Outside Staff".
Since the supplied default files mainly are a way to provide decent 
settings for users who don't know/care about how to tweak the 
defaults, this setting would produce better default results. 
However, leave the ring symbol for harmonic/open string (metatool 
'O') as it is.
