Actually, I haven't actually explored this, but I thought "allow undo past save" only worked *before* the file was closed. Most of my programs can undo past save so long as the file remains open, but if Finale can re-open a previous (and previously named) file to undo, that would be a step in the right direction, and be quite different from any of the other software I'm using.
