Coda never had problems understanding me in the past, as I nagged 
them with that request through wishlist after wishlist--and in fact 
they did finally eliminate them all in Finale 2000 (wh. for this and 
other reasons I consider to be the most perfectly realized version of 
Finale ever, despite the very real improvements added since) only to 
reintroduce them in subsequent versions.

"Unnecessary" means unnecessary. To *anyone*, *ever*, not just me. A 
prompt to save is unnecessary if it occurs when one attempts to close 
after having made *no changes to the file*. I should have thought 
that blindingly obvious.
