No for the first part, because that's already what happens. The cases I
described did _not_ change anything in the document. All it needs is a
change to what causes Finale to think that a change occurred. Currently
certain tool changes, view changes etc already trigger this, but really only
an entry in the undo list (assuming that this already logs everything)
should cause Finale to change it's "Document's latest status changed"
variable to change to "false".

Perhaps David's remark has more to do with the fact that this error is
limited to the Mac (is it?)?
