Hello all,

Let's say I have a score with a harp part. In many of the measures where
the harp has arpeggiando, I've had to make the measure wider so that I
could positions the notes and the arpeggiando articulations to make them
readable.

Now comes time to extract the harp part, and it looks like I have two main
choices. If I choose 'Apply Note Spacing', all of the measure adjustments
I've made get lost, and the arpeggiando measures are all scrunched up
again. Even worse, the manual positioning of the articulation relative to
the note gets kept, so that some articulations are on top of the next note
over, etc. But if I choose 'Preserve Current Spacing', measures where the
harp part has only a whole note (for example) appear much wider than they
should because the spacing of that measure was determined by the run of
sixteenth notes in the clarinet.

In other words, I either have to go through the part and redo all of the
tweaks I already made to the score, or I have to select the groups of
measures that don't have arpeggiando and selectively apply note spacing to
only those measures.

Is there no better solution? I think what I'm looking for is something like
'Apply note spacing except where I have made manual adjustments to the
measure width/beat chart'. Except that I know there would be problems with
that as well.

Thanks,
Aaron.
