Same thing with detecting collision of lyrics. The spacing algorithm considers it a collision any time a lyric syllable hangs over to the next note. If there's no lyric under that next note, it's probably not actually colliding, and it will look better to space it tighter and let the lyric hang over a little. I think the next big step for Finale's spacing is to start paying attention to the vertical position of items. Some elements are OK to overlap horizontally so long as they're sufficiently distant vertically. I'm sure it's a complicated problem and it won't come out perfectly the first time, but they could make a good start at it and then maybe fine tune it down the road. It can be an option under Lyric Spacing Options, so that at the very worst you can resort to the old settings and be no worse off that we are now. mdl _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
