What composers do is one thing, but what engravers do is another. One can argue about the pros and cons of various engravers' "aesthetics"--a word apparently meant to deride--but the fact is all of them exist for the sole purpose of rendering the music easier to read. If you take nothing else away from a reading of Ted Ross's book, you should take away that communication of the composer's intent to a performer in the most efficient and clear way was his overriding concern. Thus, you seem to be deriding what you say you believe in most. _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
