And the best part: if they code for OS X in the right way, it's about halfway to a Linux port (obviously, Aqua-specific code would not > port).
I don't think that's practical for them until they can drop OS 9 support. The current dual MacOS requirement more or less obligates them to use Carbon. Of which I believe only the CoreFoundation API portions have ports for other platforms (including Windows).
