Well, I generally set my default measurement unit to points, so I only have to memorize multiples of 6.

If/when you start using the Staff List Manager instead of the Staff Usage dialog, you will have to memorize the multiples of 24, since it only does EVPUs. (That's a bit of a pain, but the advantages more than offset the disadvantages.)
