So, I'm operating MacFin2007, and trying to extract parts from a file created on the 06 version. According to the Quick Start Video, all I have to do is go to Manage Parts, and click on a Link Parts button. However, that video obviously shows the Win format, not Mac .. and there is no such button I can find. So, I sort of fumbled around and extracted the parts anyway ... I'm not sure if they were linked or not, but I had to do a fair amount of editing, i.e, moving measure numbers, dynamics, hairpins, and spacing distance between staves (systems). Also, once I edited the parts, I had trouble finding them again, like there is now no separate folder for them, they just exist as part of the score, and when I did find one and got it open to do some more editing, all the changes I had made were no longer there. I know I'm screwing something up, but so far, I am not realizing the advantage of 2007. I did, however, find the User's Manual handy for learning how to deal with the Kontact 2 Player ... like loading instruments ... quite a bit different from the standard GPO player I was used to ... not particularly intuitive for my tyro status.
