This is my primary method of entry, and when I depart from it it's generally to use the up and down arrow keys, which I understand are also missing in Sibelius.
Sounds to me like anyone who is in the habit of using non-MIDI Speedy is going to have to learn a completely new entry method if he switches to Sibelius.
