hoping for some advice / tips from anyone who has used this plugin recently. i haven't used this in a long time and wanted to check how it works with 2010.

i'm working on a score (in C) with 3 staves in the doc for each wind and 4331 for brass. using the oboe as an example, the composer has used all three staves in the score in various configurations. so, the 3 staves in the SC are named and contain:

   staff 1, group name "1.2." = ob1+2, sometimes only ob1, sometimes only ob2
   staff 2, group name "3." = ob3, sometimes ob2+3, sometimes only ob2
staff 3, staff name (no group defined) "3." = only ob3, but only contains music when needed in SC

is this going to work properly?

does TGTool recognize the staff group names as well as the text expressions "a2" "1.2." etc.? or should i go through the score and add "1.2." as needed, even if the staff group name on each page indicates what instruments play on that system? if i need to add more, should i add these expressions every system? every left page?

i also hope to only add 2 staves for some instrument groups instead of 3, i.e. leave ob3, bsn3, tpt3[inC], tbn3 linked. is there a way to make the part explosion use (add to / alter) the existing 3rd staff for the 3rd part when exploding? this way there could be fewer parts that are not linked.

and how does this work in large string sections? there are some passages where on each quarter in a measure another instrument enters, e.g. on beat 1-4, the instruments playing are vlnI.1, 1.2., 1.-3., 1.-4.

does this work as well in explosion?
