A perfect example of being led astray by the dictionary! Clearly the copyist looked it up and found the hyphenation for the other pronunciation. Your lyrics with different pronunciations of Babel remind me of an old Espy verse: Behold now! By the Jordan dreameth That beast by scholars called behemoth; Though scholars of another cloth I understand say behemoth; While others still, rejecting both, Refer to him as behemoth.
